About Us

Thank you for stopping by to learn a little about us! Let us introduce you to our world of the Australian Labradoodle, Therapy or Service Dog.
Several years ago, we desired to adopt a family dog. We began to research to find the perfect type of dog that would blend well with our active and busy lifestyle.
First, we have severe allergies so we needed a dog that would be as allergy friendly as possible. Secondly, we are a very active and outdoorsy family and wanted a dog that would enjoy the outdoors, water, camping, hiking, and other activities along with us. We also wanted a dog that was small enough to travel with us easily. Another aspect was intelligence. (Who wouldn’t want that?) We’d had a few experiences with some other breeds that were darling and loveable, yet we had trouble with training and behavior. These are just a few of the things we had on our list as important characteristics of our new family member.
As our choices narrowed down, it became very clear that an Australian Labradoodle was our first choice. We also came to the realization that a standard American backyard cross between a Poodle and a Labrador was not an option. (Please see information regarding more about that on our "Why Australian?" page.)
We spent lots of time searching for the right breeder and began learning everything there is to know about this wonderful breed. We so admired the work of Beverley Manners of Rutland Manor who is the co-founder of this fabulous breed. She is a wonderful, warm hearted lady who took time out of her busy schedule to be a source of information to us. After several years of researching and learning, the possibility of becoming a breeder ourselves began to become our desire. Our love for the breed, the knowledge we’d obtained, and our passion for having only the best continued to fuel this fire.
Then we came to know a wonderful Californian breeder, Liz Ferris with Country Labradoodles. Liz has imported many of her dogs directly from Australia. (Feel free to browse her site and learn all about her wonderful breeding program)Through this connection, we became the lucky co-owner of our first girl, Lil' Miss Piper.
Piper came to us at six months of age and immediately captured our hearts. Her attentiveness to our family, her intelligence, her happy, loving, eager to please and obedient spirit has continued to amaze us. She is truly a part of our family whom we cannot imagine life without.
So now you know how we came to be breeders of this wonderful breed of dogs! Keep exploring and you will soon be convinced that only the best will do and why we strive to keep our program top quality.
